iMDrive (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is a car launcher and vehicle‑diagnostics app for drivers. This policy explains what data the app handles, why, and with whom it is shared. The app is intended for adult drivers (18+) and does not require you to create an account or sign in.

When you tap “Explain with AI” on a fault code, or use the symptom checker, the app sends the trouble code(s) and/or your description, the relevant live sensor readings, and — if you have chosen a vehicle — that vehicle’s details (make, model, year, engine, fuel type, displacement, VIN, odometer) to our backend, which forwards them to a third‑party AI provider (Anthropic / Claude) to generate an explanation. Choosing a vehicle is optional; you can run a diagnosis without one (it will be less specific). AI output is informational only and is not a substitute for professional inspection or repair.
If enabled, the app can show community‑confirmed speed‑camera corrections and let you contribute anonymous “camera here / no camera here” votes for a map location. These are coarse map corrections (a point and a yes/no), not messages or media, and they are aggregated/threshold‑confirmed. Your personal live location is not published.
We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell it.
On‑device data (vehicle profiles, trips, maintenance, fuel logs, scan history, settings) remains until you delete it or uninstall the app. Crash/analytics data is retained per Firebase’s defaults. Your AI‑credit balance and purchase records are retained while your account is active so purchases can be restored.
Data in transit is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). Purchases are verified server‑side, and abuse protection (App Check) is used on backend calls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
iMDrive is intended for drivers and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18.
We may update this policy; we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected on the app’s store listing.
